  • Continuing Education: Mandated Reporting: What CASAs Need to Know

Mandated Reporting: What CASAs Need to Know (2 credits)

Illinois requires a wide range of professionals to report suspected child maltreatment. These professionals and any other person required by law to report suspected abuse or neglect are called “mandated reporters.”  As Guardian ad Litem for children in the foster care system – it is important that our volunteers have a strong understanding of the Illinois Abused and Neglected Child Act.  Please join CASA Kane County and our colleagues from the Department of Children and Family Services (“DCFS”), the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office and the Kane County Public Defender’s Office as we educate our advocates on how to comply with mandated reporting in Illinois.
