MAJOR DONOR SPOTLIGHT

Valley Fire Protection Systems, located in Batavia, has been making a difference in the lives of abused and neglected children since 2005. Tom Hartel, President of Valley Fire, first learned about the CASA program when the Vice President's wife, Charlene Flynn, became a CASA volunteer. John Flynn was so moved by his wife's volunteer work that he chose to serve on the annual Golf For a Child committee, and just this year became a member of the Chairman's Advisory Panel. John has a background in sales, and it didn't take long for him to sell Tom on the importance of supporting CASA Kane County's mission. According to Tom, "CASA is a great organization that is very well run. They are providing a tremendous service to the community." Tom was so moved by the stories of the children we serve that he decided to get his vendors involved. Every year around the holidays, he asks his vendors to make a donation to CASA Kane County. When asked how his vendors reacted to this request Tom said, "Very favorably. Many thanked me for introducing them to such a fine organization."
