BRIDGES OUT OF POVERTY
Every two years, CASA Kane County organizes a full-day conference that is open to professionals within the child welfare system. On September 28, 2007, we partnered with All Our Kids to host Bridges Out of Poverty: Strategies for Professionals & Communities. Two hundred people attended, including social workers, CASA volunteers, lawyers, police officers, and teachers. The intent of this conference was to better understand the unique challenges faced by children and adults living in poverty, and to use this knowledge to redesign our programs to better suit their needs.
