CASA Kane County
Our Executive Director
Gloria Bunce has served as the Executive Director for CASA Kane County since 2007,
overseeing the organization that represents the best interests of abused and neglected children.
Gloria currently leads a professional staff of 10, a 14-member Board of Directors, 32 Chairman’s
Advisory Panel members, and over 200 CASA/GAL volunteers.
Gloria received her Master of Business Administration degree in leadership from Aurora University and her Bachelor of Science degree in public relations with a minor in marketing from Eastern Michigan University. Gloria’s professional growth has been a steady progression of development in the voluntary sector, highlighted by the following: select member of Aurora University’s MBA Advisory Board; Advisory Board Member of the Child Advocacy Center; Past Chair of the Aurora Chamber Ambassador Program; Past Vice-Chair of the of the Aurora Public Library Foundation; Past Chair of the Fox West Philanthropy Network; and member of the Tri-City Exchange Club.
In her current position, Gloria works with CASA Kane County’s Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers to provide the support needed for children in abuse/neglect and probate courts. She leads the organization’s operational plan which incorporates goals and objectives towards the strategic direction of the organization. Accomplishing this has called for a broad range of skills, both technical and interpersonal. When she joined the organization in 2007, the organization’s budget was at $400,000 and today operations are nearly $1,000,000 to ensure the 500 plus children served are provided a CASA/GAL volunteer. She formed the organization’s Chairman’s Advisory Panel which consists of 32 professional men and woman who support the organization’s outreach and philanthropic needs to serve children. Gloria also developed a community leadership team to embark on CASA Kane County’s Program and Operational Endowment Campaign for the perpetuity of the program.
As she continues to serve our most vulnerable children in our community, Bunce was selected in 2010 to the task force that advised the Kane County Board of Directors on selecting the next state’s attorney. Gloria has also been a frequent speaker at Aurora University on Leadership and Development and different panels on Inspiring Trust and Servant Leadership. In June of 2011, Gloria was nominated for the Kane County Bar Association Liberty Bell Award. This nationally recognized award is bestowed on a non-attorney individual or community organization who has promoted a better understanding of the law, encouraged a greater respect for the law and the courts, who stimulates a sense of civic responsibility, and who contributes to good government within the community. The Kane County Liberty Bell award has been presented annually since 2000.
Gloria is married to Jode Bunce, who is employed by Eby-Brown Company. Together they have two children, Alexandria (Lexi), 17, and Jacob, 15, who attend West Aurora High School.

Further proving her commitment to the CASA program, Mari was sworn in as a CASA/GAL on November 20, 2008.
