Child Demographics

& Goals

CASA Kane County relied on 281 trained volunteers to represent 610 children in Juvenile and Probate Courts last year.  These children range in age from birth to 21-year-olds who are ready to live independently.  All of these children and young adults relied on their CASA/GAL volunteer to make certain that their goals of safety and permanency were achieved.

Program outcomes:

  • 100% of children served did not experience a recurrence of abuse or neglect.
  • 99% of children served remained with one consistent CASA/GAL volunteer for the entire year.
  • 100% of children who came into abuse/neglect and probate courts were appointed a CASA/GAL volunteer.

OUR GOALS

  • Timeliness to Permanency – Probate Court: 90% of private guardianship cases in probate court will close in 60 days or less.
  • Placement Stability – Abuse/Neglect Court: 75% of children served will experience an average of 2 or fewer placement changes for duration of the case.
  • Placement Stability – Probate Court: 95% of children served will experience an average of 2 or fewer placement changes for duration of the case.
  • Placement Stability – Transitional Youth: 75% of youth in transition (age 14+) will reside in 4 or fewer placements for the duration of the case.
  • Advocate Retention: 85% of advocates will be retained annually.
